Demolition (Ax & Smash) was not inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2025, but they were on hand for the ceremony. Speaking to Ben Veal on Wrestling Life, the two reflected on the ceremony and how they were treated. "I'll tell you what was really impressive. Bill and I, when we got to the Hall of Fame, we were in a room with Triple H and everybody. [Kevin] Nash was in there, Steve Austin. Right away, CM Punk came up to us and introduced himself. Just a really really good guy. Bruce Prichard came up, gave him a little hug, the whole deal. Undertaker's wife [Michelle McCool] came up. It was a really good thing because we had been away for so long. With people coming up to us, Undertaker, Booker T, everybody. It was quite nice," said Barry Darsow, who portrayed Demolition Smash. Bill Eadie, who portrayed Demolition Ax, said their seats were close to the stage, but they were like coach seats on a plane. Darsow thought it was a rib that they were sat next to Warlord & Barbian given the size of all four men. Elsewhere during the interview, Demolition commented on their WWE legends deal. Maven says he would be proud to work for somebody like Tony Khan. Maven "sneaking into" AEW Collision was the subject of one of his recent YouTube videos. During that video, he met with Tony Khan and spoke about how much he respected him after seeing him work for a night. During a recent appearance on Cafe de Rene with Rene Dupree, the inaugural winner of WWE Tough Enough revealed that, of course, his appearance was prearranged and that he had gotten in touch with an old WWE employee through Colt Cabana. When discussing meeting Tony Khan, Maven said he was impressed by how Tony greeted every single wrestler that worked that evening and asked if they were okay. He would also say that he understood why names like MJF or Jon Moxley would choose to work for AEW over WWE due to the environment. "What wasn't planned was if I was going to be able to talk to Tony at the end of the night. They were filming Ring of Honor in the beginning, then Collision live, and then Ring of Honor at the end. After Collision ended, before they filmed the second half of Ring of Honor, this contact told me Tony wants to meet with you. I was waiting for about 30 minutes. I'm not kidding, Rene, every match that ended, every wrestler that came out of the ring, Tony got up from his Vince McMahon gorilla position, took his headphones off, and checked on every wrestler, and he was sincere about it. What a hell of a guy. That's a guy I would work for. That's a guy I would go to the mat for. When guys like MJF don't leave, I see why. When Jon Moxley would rather work for him than WWE? I see why. Great environment." Also, during the video, Josh Mathews confirmed his status with AEW. Learn more here.
