On Sunday, R-Truth informed fans that WWE had released him, ending his time with the company after nearly two decades between his two runs. It was later reported that Truth's contract was set to expire and wouldn't be renewed. Fans have already shown their support for Truth by chanting "We Want Truth" at WWE Raw and WWE NXT events. Speaking on Talk'n Shop, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows weighed in on WWE's decision to let Truth's deal expire. "t's not the WWE anymore, guys. It's a company called TKO," said Anderson. Gallows added, "I dont' look at WWE as WWE anymore. They're TKO now and that's great. That's good for them. It's not the same thing." WWE officially merged with UFC to form TKO in September 2023, though the two promotions operate separately. Gallows & Anderson were released by WWE in February 2025. Another update from Owens. Kevin Owens and Randy Orton were scheduled to go one-on-one at WWE WrestleMania 41. Several weeks before the show, Owens announced on SmackDown that he was dealing with a neck injury and was not medically cleared. Owens previously stated that he has not undergone surgery and he reiterated that again during an interview with Le10Sport. Further speaking about the injury, Owens said he had doubts for months that something was wrong. Two days before his announcement on SmackDown, he learned the exact diagnosis. Owens added that he's lucky to not have done more damage via the matches he had at Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. “I had my doubts for several months that there was something really wrong. On the other hand, it took several months to diagnose the injury as such. But we found out two days before I made the announcement on SmackDown, that I couldn't be at WrestleMania and that I had to stop wrestling immediately. In fact, I was extremely lucky not to be injured more seriously in the matches that I had at the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber because my neck was already in very bad shape, but we didn't know. Because the symptoms I was having weren't compatible with a neck injury. So we were looking for why I had these symptoms, but we weren't looking in the right place because it didn't make sense. No one could have known that it was my neck that was affected by these symptoms. Afterwards, someone... In fact, I was the one who suggested I have my neck examined to see if there was anything wrong. And that's when we found it.” Owens would go on to state that it would be untruthful for him to say he's 'absolutely' returning to the ring. “It would be, not arrogant, but wrong to be able to tell you right now that I'm absolutely going to get back in the ring, that I'm going to have more fights. I don't know if that's true”. As of this writing, Owens' last match was an Unsanctioned bout against Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber. Fightful has partnered with MyBookie. Kevin Kelly discusses Michael Cole. Michael Cole is a longtime veteran of the WWE announce booth, going all the way back to the 90's. However, in recent years, Cole has received even more praise from fans after the removal of Vince McMahon from WWE's operations, as Cole has had more freedom in his announcing. While speaking to Rewind, Recap, Relive in a recent interview, Kelly spoke about Michael Cole's announcing and shared what it was like working with Cole early in his career. "Again, what a long and storied career, and he started one year after me. We got to riding together and realized we had a lot in common. We started to get along. Because there was like a competitiveness between us. But it just came to be that we got along and his... personality is different than mine. He's real, like he's very intense and very focused. He also has, I wish he could print his notes because he has the smallest handwriting. Like he writes like in, I don't know, two point font and I don't know how he reads it. But again, he's, he's able to do his job. He's on top of his game right now. You could just feel the weight of the world off of his shoulders the last couple of years. He's free to be the announcer that he has trained to become for all these years. And he's getting his flowers, and they're well-deserved." Elsewhere in the same interview, Kelly spoke about working with The Rock in WWE. You can read more about that here.
