It was a Battle of Edge vs Edge-Head back in 2024. On the March 30, 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland held an open challenge for his TNT Championship. The person who answered the challenge was none other than his former Edge-Head, Matt Cardona (FKA Zack Ryder). The matchup itself was a fun one for fans to witness but for Cardona, himself, it was the chance of a lifetime and an absolute dream match...even if it didn't result in a fulltime gig. Cardona recently spoke with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp at the Squared Circle Expo, where he discussed the matchup with his former mentor and spoke about how much it meant to him. "I guess AEW didn't love it because I never got job," Cardona said. "But seriously, it was my dream match and it was a great moment. I'm forever grateful for that match with Adam Copeland. I think just walking down that aisle—I'm getting goosebumps right now, you can't tell because I'm wearing this custom suit—but it was like, ‘Wow, it worked. Everything I've been doing, it's working, it worked.’ Validation, is that the right word? For it to be against Adam Copeland / Edge, it was just like a story that nobody wrote. It was real life. Edge versus Edgehead, a match I thought that would never happen. My dream match. It was happening and the people were behind me. It was cool. Adam Copeland wasn't the only former WWE World Champion that Cardona faced in AEW/ROH. He also faced Chris Jericho for the Ring of Honor World Championship, and it was another match that Cardona holds close to his heart. "Even like months later when I do the Jericho stuff, I was kind of nervous coming in as a babyface. I'm like, ‘Oh, my God, they're gonna hate me. Like, I'm not an AEW babyface. I don't do all those moves.’ But they love me. But even that whole run with Jericho was a bunch of fun," Cardona said. Cardona also recently spoke his character evolution and how important that evolution is for him to stay fresh and relevant. Fans can read those comments here. Cardona previously spoke about his matchup with Copeland, and fans can read those comments here.

Muhammad Hassan loved reconnecting with Maven. In September 2024, Maven uploaded a video with Muhammad Hassan to his YouTube channel, allowing the star to talk about some of the most controversial moments from his career in WWE. Following the video's release, Hassan's short run in WWE became a talking point in the world of wrestling once again. In May 2025, the character was covered on a new episode of Dark Side Of The Ring. While speaking with Fightful for a new interview, Hassan was asked about possibly creating his own wrestling-related content. "You know, I would like to find my niche. I work really hard. I have four children. So I would love to be able to find some sort of side hustle or some of my expertise would benefit others, maybe. But being on Maven’s show is such a blast the way that we did it. We did it at the high school in the district that I work at. We watched old film. Maven and I weren't particularly close, but we were friends and we spent time together and we had a very similar experience in the business. So seeing somebody after all of that time, it was like hanging out with an old buddy and just kind of watching and laughing at yourself because we watched a lot of funny things too. But I will say that watching Maven and the screener that they sent me from Dark Side, I feel like the six hours I spent interviewing, they got about 20 minutes of screen time with me and the other 20 was Maven. Like he steals the show. But his perspective is so interesting and he really lived a very similar experience that I lived, albeit different at the same time. But again, his perspective, Jimmy's, all of those guys, it was really cool to kind of hear other people tell my story. But yeah, I think my Maven's going to probably want to bring me on as a cohost for some of the shows that he does, watching clips." Elsewhere in the interview, Hassan talked about how his wrestling character helped him as a teacher. His full comments on the topic can be found by clicking here. Fans can check out Fightful's full interview with Muhammad Hassan in the video linked at the top of this interview.

AJ Francis claims responsibility for Joe Hendry's rise to stardom. Since debuting inTNA last year, AJ Francis and Joe Hendry have been at odds, with Hendry spoiling Francis' debut at Hard To Kill, and releasing one of his trademark parody songs about Francis. In a new interview with Simon Miller of WhatCulture, Francis claimed responsibility for Joe Hendry's rise over the past two years. "Joe Hendry is the reason. I'm the reason Joe Hendry... Let's be fair. Joe Hendry did the same thing for 10 years and got nowhere. He had one feud with me, and then he was the biggest thing in wrestling. That's a fact. Check the timeline. A year ago today, actually, was Rebellion when he went viral twice. Once because A-List was twerking on him. The other time, because Shawne Merriman gave him a clothesline. Who do you think set up both of those? Then the very next night, we filmed the Joe Hendry rock concert that goes viral. Who's he singing that song about? Like, let's just be real. It's not like he hasn't had other stars to sing songs about. He sang about LA Knight. He sang about Drew McIntyre. He sang about all these other guys that are bona fide stars. That didn't make him a star. What made him a star was talking about me. That's a fact. And if you don't like that, you're mad at facts. So I don't give a shit." Hendry recently lost the TNA World Title to Trick Williams at NXT Battleground. You can read more about that here. If you use any of the quotes above, please credit the original source with a H/T and link back to Fightful for the transcription.
