Matt Hardy comments on R-Truth’s departure from WWE. The world of wrestling is still reeling the heartbreaking news that WWE will not be renewing R-Truth’s contract once it expires in the coming weeks. Fans have been very vocal about their support for Truth, even chanting for him at shows and constantly talking about him on social media. On the latest edition of his The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy commented on the shocking news. “I mean, it was shocking. You would think with the attitude and mentality he had — If Vince was there, I think he probably would’ve stuck around because Vince was such a big fan. He was easy to work with, he wasn’t difficult, he wasn’t a challenge. It was shocking. I was shocked that they didn’t re-sign him. I would’ve thought that R-Truth would’ve been a WWE lifer at this point. He liked the gig, he liked what he was doing and I was very surprised by it. I was very caught off vibe. When you sent me his tweet, it was shocking like, ‘Woah.’ That was definitely not on my bingo card as they say.” Hardy then put on his business cap and tried to think from the mindset of WWE’s parent company, TKO. “I guess the TKO era is different, maybe they’re looking at a bottom line like, how much many is this talent specifically bringing in? Is this talent bringing in enough to be justified to be paid x amount of dollars. I mean, that’s the only thing I can figure, that they couldn’t justify paying him x amount dollars for the revenue.” Jon Alba brought up a fascinating point, saying that WWE should’ve attempted to negotiate a salary and new contract that works for both parties. “I agree. If I would’ve been the boss, if I would’ve been handling his negotiations, I would’ve done anything to keep him around. Even if I felt like you were paying him a little more than he was worth, because the company is making so much money. I feel like not only is he [good] for the fanbase, I think he’s good for morale. He’s a great employee to have, you know what I mean? He’s an ambassador, he’s the kind of guy you want there. I would’ve went out of my way but they’re looking at it differently apparently. I was shocked by it.” Later on in the conversation, Hardy was enthusiastic about R-Truth potentially landing in TNA, saying he’d be over with the fans from the jump. "I mean, he has history in TNA obviously being a former NWA champ. He was here five years or so. He has a history in TNA, he’s such a beloved star. Wherever he shows up next, he’s gonna have this groundswell of fans follow him to wherever he is because he has great sympathy on him because you didn’t re-sign this guy. I mean, business is business but at the end of the day, people felt like it was unjustified. They felt like he should’ve been because he’s so entertaining, he’s so good, he’s such a company guy, he does whatever else. We can’t believe you did this to him because this is one of our guys, they’re connected, they’re attached. This is one of our guys and you let his contract run out. Even though at the end of the day it’s just business and they didn’t do anything wrong or bad, they just made the decision for the bottom line, it’s not worth to pay him this much to be here or whatever — I don’t know, that’s just me guessing. If he came to TNA, he would be over huge, he’d be able to do comedy, he could roll into a higher position on the card where he could be serious too. He could also do all of his music without any stipulations or parameters. If he wanted to put out a whole new album, he could dedicate himself to that. It’s gonna be interesting to see what he chooses to do. I would almost recommend to Ron, stay on the outside for a little while and just build yourself up and do everything you want to do, make all the money you can make and I think you can get even hotter where they’re like, oh, maybe we should’ve kept him.” Fightful will continue to keep fans posted on Truth and his post-WWE journey. The Miz recently gave had some more positive words for Truth, saying that the future is bright for him. Learn more by clicking here. Brian Milonas is calling it a career. Former ROH talent Brian Milonas announced that he is stepping away from the ring. From Milonas: Sometimes in life the mind wants something the body just isn't capable of. Since I was a little boy professional wrestling has been something l've been passionate about. From watching the stars of the 80s all the way through till now I have loved professional wrestling. As an adult the pursuit of a career in pro wrestling has been my singular focus. Starting at age 19, I have dedicated so much time, effort and energy into making this crazy dream happen. While I fell short of my ultimate goal of becoming a WWE Superstar, I am very proud of my resume. I've had great times and made great friends along the way. My only regret is not stopping more in the moments to enjoy the journey. Today I say goodbye to the pursuit of pro wrestling as my life. I say goodbye to performing in the ring. As it turns out my last match took place on February 22, 2024. Nearly 23 years of being in the ring and performing has been one of the greatest honors of my life. From the Polish American Veteran's Club in Lowell, MA all the way to Madison Square Garden in New York City. What a ride. Thank you to the fans who have supported me these last two decades. I could never repay you in a million years for how you have made me feel these last two decades. I love and appreciate you all. Thank you to my friends, mentors, peers and associates. I hope l've been able to add value to your journey in pro wrestling as so many have in mine. Don't take the professional wrestling business for granted. Your time in it is fleeting and can go by in the snap of a finger. Treat the ring and the locker room as the sacred places they are. Leave it better than you found it. Thank you to my family. Your unconditional love and support propelled me to do some pretty cool things. I love you all. I love professional wrestling and when the time is right I will figure out what my next steps are to be a part of the greatest business in the world. For now though, it is time to close the book on my in-ring career. Much love and appreciation to you all. Brian Milonas was best known for his run in Ring of Honor where he regularly teamed with Beer City Bruiser. He was also part of an independent in 2007 where John Cena and Vince McMahon made appearances. Fans can read Milonas' comments on the night by clicking here. Fightful wishes Brian the best in his next chapter.

Mike Tenay reportedly discussed for WWE x AAA Worlds Collide. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that former WCW and TNA announcer Mike Tenay was reportedly discussed for an announcing role at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide on June 7th. Meltzer notes that it is unknown if Tenay was contacted and as of now, he is not scheduled to call the show. "We do know there had been discussion of Mike Tenay regarding announcing the show–he started his announcing career doing When Worlds Collide in 1994, but I can’t confirm if he was contacted. But as best as I can tell, he’s not at this point scheduled to do the show. The former AAA English language announcers, Joe Dombrowski and Larry Dallas, are also not doing the show. The announcing team has been kept quiet," writes Meltzer. Tenay wrapped up his full-time announcing career with TNA in 2015, officially retiring in 2016. He was inducted into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame alongside Don West in 2023.

Anderson, the son of the legendary Arn Anderson and proud member of the Anderson wrestling family, has turned heads since joining MLW alongside cousin CW Anderson. Known for his punishing spinebuster and classic wrestling fundamentals, Brock now sets his sights on climbing the singles ranks—though he assures fans this is not the end of the Anderson tag team. Anderson grew up in this sport and his intentions are to hurt people and make a name on his own terms. Standing in his path is Anthony Greene. The flamboyant, mustachioed throwback made his MLW debut in April’s Battle RIOT VI in Los Angeles, dazzling fans with his unique mix of vintage cool and modern athleticism. Now, the self-proclaimed “Alternative” looks to make his mark in singles action. Boasting to have more style in one strand of hair than Brock has in his entire wardrobe, don’t let the flash fool you—once that bell rings, Greene is all business. Brandi Rhodes is making a strong parental decision. In June 2021, Brandi and Cody Rhodes welcomed their first child into the world, Liberty Iris Runnels. Now, coming up on her fourth birthday, Brandi Rhodes is revealing a key parenting decision that she and Cody decided to make for Liberty. “She runs around the ring and plays, but she has no idea what’s going on. She’s turning four this month and has never seen a wrestling match. That’s a personal decision. One day she’ll get it—but there’s no pressure.” Brandi Rhodes told BET in a new interview. Rhodes went on to say that there is no pressure on Liberty to wrestle. “Every time I post her, someone’s like, ‘Next generation!’ And I’m like—maybe not. If she wants to wrestle, sure. But just because her parents did it doesn’t mean she has to.” Fans can check out Brandi’s recent interview with Cody Rhodes on ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About’ by clicking here. Naito wrote in his blog that they were not able to use 'Los Ingobernables de Japon.' On May 4th, Tetsuya Naito and BUSHI wrapped up with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The two are going to be embarking on their post-NJPW run(s) as a duo. Taking to X, BUSHI revealed that he and Naito are now calling themselves 'Los Tranquilos de Japon.' The Los Ingobernables de Japon faction in NJPW disbanded after Naito and BUSHI's exits. In a blog post from Naito, he wrote that the Los Ingobernables de Japon name is owned by people other than himself and BUSHI so they cannot carry it on outside of New Japan. He noted that it was their fault for not getting the rights to the name right away. Naito and BUSHI have yet to make their first post-NJPW in-ring appearances. BUSHI received an invite to come to GLEAT but said he'd only do so if GLEAT Chief Technical Officer Kaz Hayashi came out of retirement.
