Jade Cargill has secured a significant role in a major motion picture. As first reported by Deadline, WWE's Jade Cargill has been cast opposite Jonathan Majors in the upcoming film True Threat. The movie is an action thriller set in Harlem. At this time, Majors and Cargill are the only two actors attached to the project. True Threat follows Special Forces operative Vernon Threat, played by Majors, as he returns home to avenge his son’s murder by the Apollo Kids gang. He infiltrates The Carter, a 20-story building controlled by the gang, battling floor by floor to confront his former mentor, Shallow. Cargill will portray Meeka, a leading lieutenant in the Apollo Kids and a key antagonist. Meeka oversees the red light district in The Carter, establishing herself as an influential figure in the building. This role is reportedly one that will showcase Cargill’s athleticism and screen presence. The film's director, Gerard McMurray, commented on Cargill joining the cast, telling Deadline, "I am excited to have Jade join us. She is a unique talent with a rare blend of athleticism, charisma, and control on camera. The role of Meeka requires presence and precision, and Jade brings both. I believe audiences will see a completely new side of her in this film." Additional members of the production team chimed in, saying, "Our mission here is to champion new faces and new voices in action storytelling. Jade is exactly the type of dynamic talent we want to introduce to the global film audience. She is already a force in the sports and entertainment world, and we believe this is just the beginning for her on the big screen." Jade Cargill is currently wrestling for WWE SmackDown and is represented by Paradigm Talent Group. Fightful will provide further updates on this movie as more information becomes available.

Jayne describes the opportunity as 'super cool.' Jacy Jayne is two weeks into her reign as NXT Women's Champion and she successfully defended the belt on the June 10th NXT on The CW. She is going to have a title defense at WWE's all-women's Premium Live Event, Evolution. It was announced that there will be four singles matches on NXT and those four winners will advance to a Fatal 4-Way. The winner of the four-way will challenge Jayne at the July 13th PLE. While guest appearing on WWE - Die Woche, Jayne spoke about the opportunity and being the first talent announcement for the show. “Oh, it’s super cool. I’m really excited about that. I remember watching the first Evolution pay-per-view, and I was like, ‘This is groundbreaking. An all-women’s show? WWE’s never done that before.' It’s been years since we’ve done that and you know, we always say, ‘NXT has the best women’s division in the entire world’ so, I’m so happy that they’re having NXT be a part of this so we can show what our division is all about to an audience that maybe hasn’t seen us yet, and the fact that I get to represent us on that show, that’s huge for me, and I’m really excited and I’m not taking it lightly. Yeah, for sure (being the first name announced for Evolution lights a fire inside me). Definitely. Because I think everybody for a while was thinking, like, there were rumors about the Evolution pay-per-view but it didn’t get confirmed yet and then when it did get confirmed, there was rumors that NXT wasn’t even gonna be a part of it. Like, it was just gonna be a main roster show. So then, when they announced this this past Tuesday, everybody in the locker room is super happy about it. Just to have NXT be a part of that, that’s a huge win for us." The title victory in May was Jayne's first singles title win in WWE. She previously held the NXT Women's Tag Team Titles twice. Janel Grant is pushing for immediate access to evidence and deposition from Dr. Carlon Colker. According to Brandon Thurston at POST Wrestling, Grant submitted new filings with the Connecticut Superior Court requesting access. Colker wants to continue to litigate whether evidence should be turned over. Thurston writes, "The new filings from Grant’s counsel lay out a variety of subjects they want evidence related to, including communications between Colker or his staff and Vince McMahon or WWE. "One element that stands out is Grant’s request for information about any possible travel Colker and McMahon may have taken together between March 1, 2019, and May 1, 2022. Grant is specifically requesting information about trips the doctor and former WWE Chairman may have taken to Tijuana, Mexico. The filings don’t elaborate on why Grant is seeking this information. Her attorneys also want to ask Colker questions about this and other subjects in a deposition. "In addition to that, she’s also seeking evidence related to the contents and purposes of the I.V. treatments and supplements she received at Peak Wellness, the practices and policies of the clinic, and any security camera footage of Grant or McMahon on property belong to Colker or the clinic between March 1, 2019, and May 1, 2022." In Grant's original January 2024 lawsuit, Grant’s attorneys say she visited Peak Wellness more than sixty times from 2019 to 2022 at the urging of McMahon. Grant alleges that Colker and Peak Wellness prescribed her supplements and infusions that weren’t identified to her. Colker continues to deny any wrongdoing and maintains Grant has received her full medical records. He filed a defamation suit against Grant's attorney Ann Callis in May. Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit in January 2024 against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. McMahon resigned from TKO/WWE following the lawsuit being filed. Laurinaitis has since been dropped from the lawsuit. Naomi had the option to not lose twice before her WWE return. For the first time in her WWE career, Naomi won the Money in the Bank Ladder match. Her latest accolade was written about by former TNA President Scott D'Amore in his column on Uncrowned. D'Amore wrote about when Naomi ventured into TNA Wrestling. He remembers the conversation they had about her returning to WWE and said tears were shed. D'Amore noted she had every right to not do the Knockouts World Title rematch with Jordynne Grace before returning to WWE, but wrote that she insisted on taking that loss before heading back. But, of course, I have an affinity for Naomi … or rather Trinity, which is her real name and what she was known as during her incredible run in TNA from 2023-24. Trinity was a massive get for TNA. The transition from the WWE can be tough when it's all you've ever known, but once she committed, she was phenomenal. Trinity had no ego, brought no drama — just had a team-first attitude. She was a huge boost to the entire locker room, not just the Knockouts division. Everyone knew she’d probably return to WWE eventually, and we were cool with that. The goal was always to showcase her as a featured star and help her continue growing. She delivered at every major milestone — from Slammiversary to Bound for Glory, then into the TNA rebrand at Hard to Kill in January 2024. She signed to go back to WWE, and told me in December 2023. She had every right to say, “Hey, I need to drop the belt quickly and I can’t lose twice to Jordynne Grace during Hard to Kill weekend.” I actually offered her an out — to drop the title and then not do the rematch on television just days later. But she insisted on doing the right thing, passing the torch to Jordynne and giving the TNA Knockouts Title full respect. When she sat me down and told me she was going back to WWE, she did it in person and was gracious enough to tell me what her time in TNA had meant to her. That gave me the chance to tell her exactly what she had done for TNA in return. Some tears were shed, so yeah, if I am thrilled that Trinity won Money In The Bank and will be in a WWE title program, don’t blame me. Naomi has not held a singles title in WWE since being SmackDown Women's Champion in 2017.

Karrion Kross talks criticism. While Karrion Kross is currently seeing an upsurge in popularity with fans at this time, it wasn't always that way. In recent years, Kross has faced his fair share of criticism from fans, but for him, it has only made him better. While speaking on the Battleground podcast recorded before Money In The Bank, Kross was asked if there was anything he wanted to say to fans. "I want to say thank you to everybody who's in my corner. People who have been there from the beginning and people that are just getting in the corner now. I think the criticisms that I've been under, uh, since I've gotten back from WWE have actually helped me improve. I'm not one of those people where I'm just like, oh, you're not with me. Well, the hell with you. I take it all into consideration. It's made me better. It's made me hungrier. If me being in money in the bank is something you want to see, or me being more heavily featured on the show is something you want to see. Stay loud, hold your ground. I hear you every single Monday. I'm backstage doing things live deep in the building. I can hear you guys through the wall, and everybody comes up to me and goes,' did you hear that?' I'm like, yes, I did. It would be impossible not to. I could be in the parking garage and hear them through the wall. Coming to a WWE live event is unlike anything that anyone has ever experienced until you do it. Come to a live event and listen to that. I guarantee you it's 10 times louder live than it is through the TV speakers. Also, while you're at that WWE live event, buy a Karrion Kross t-shirt at the merch stand now. If you can find one. They are selling out. So I actually did speak with – I spoke with merch this week. They're going to be carrying more in stock as well. So this was, I guess to them is a bit of an experiment. They wanted to see how they're doing. I think we sold out of every single size last Monday except for large. So it's just talking to them, and they're going to be carrying more as well." Elsewhere in the same interview, Kross spoke about Moxley possibly returning to WWE. You can read more about that here. If you use any of the quotes above, please credit and link to the original source with a h/t and link back to Fightful for the transcription.

Corgan clears up a misconception surrounding NWA collaborating with WWE. In May, WWE's Natalya made her way over to the National Wrestling Alliance for the Crockett Cup special. She challenged Kenzie Paige for the NWA World Women's Championship. Both Natalya and NWA owner Billy Corgan were on Busted Open and Natalya shared that she wants to go back to the organization to wrestle Paige again. Natalya: "I just hope that moving forward that I can continue to work for NWA because I plan on taking that championship off that b*tch! Kenzie Paige.” Later in the conversation, Corgan spoke about a misconception about the NWA and WWE collaborating. He said it was assumed that the NWA would be sold. Corgan stated that the organization is not for sale, nor has WWE asked if it was. Corgan: “The WWE endorsement, if you even wanna call it that -- let’s call it a blessing -- shows you that we’ve earned our spot in this game here. We’re not competition by any stretch of the imagination but we are a player now and the other thing I wanna add really quickly is we’re not for sale. A lot of people assumed that the minute that door opened with Nattie, that that night we were gonna be sold. We’re not for sale and WWE has not asked.” The National Wrestling Alliance made the announcement that their Powerrr series is going to be moving to The Roku Channel in July. If the quotes in this article are used, please credit Busted Open with an H/T to Fightful for the transcriptions.
