Google rolled out a sneak preview for developers of their forthcoming Wave platform for communication and collaboration. At first blush, there’s a lot to like about this approach. It will take some getting used to, especially since e-mail has become so ubiquitous. In an age where e-mail has been joined by instant messaging, Twitter, texting, wikis, and so many other communication tools, it’s not surprising that we’ll start to see a platform that integrates them better.

Revealed: the environmental impact of Google searches. Performing two Google searches from a desktop computer can generate about the same amount of carbon dioxide as boiling a kettle for a cup of tea, according to new research.

It’s that time of year. Google has released the 2008 Google Zeitgeist. No surprise that “Palin” and “Obama” made the top 10, but “Fox News” surprises me. I also had never heard of Surf the Channel. After taking a look at it, I’m not surprised that it makes the list.
