Red light cameras seem to be all the rage right now for cash-strapped muncipalities interested in generating revenue under the guise of public safety. The people of Georgia have figured out how to beat red light cameras. They passed a law mandating a one-second longer yellow light. It seems that when motorists are given that one additional second, they are less likely to run the red lights … a lot less likely.
