The morning after giving the response to President Obama’s joint address to Congress, Gov. Bobby Jindal appeared on NBC’s Today Show. He did a much better job than he did in the actual response. Jindal is a much better conversational speaker than he is a formal speaker, at this point in his career, at least. I think he’s somewhat the opposite of Obama, in that regard. Obama gives great speeches, but in a more informal conversation of interview, he often looks lost, as he searches for the right words and tries to avoid stepping on any rhetorical landmines.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal gave the Republican response to Pres. Obama’s joint address to Congress. By almost any account, this was not a good performance by Jindal. It seemed like he was using talking points from the RNC that weren’t written to suit his style. He looked stiff and uncomfortable. Clearly, this was not the outing that Jindal or the RNC wanted. The expectations were set exceptionally high, but even still, he has nowhere to go but up.

Amish Hackers. This is a fascinating article about how the Amish interact with technology. The common perception is that the Amish are anti-technology. However, upon closer examination, it’s more accurate to say that while the Amish are suspicious of technology, they are also incredibly skilled in adapting technology to fit their needs.

The Hardest Job in Football: “If the production crew of a televised football game is like a symphony orchestra, Bob Fishman is its conductor. He sits front and center in the dark trailer, insulated from the sunshine and the roar of the crowd, taking the fragments of sounds and moving images and assembling the broadcast on the fly, mediating the real event into the digital one.”

The Pro-Life Movement During the Age of Obama. It shouldn’t be surprising that as the pro-life movement enters the political wilderness, they are quickly realizing the need to change their strategy. The move is on from Roe absolutism to abortion reduction.

The Meaning of Sarah Palin: “Palin became the embodiment of every dark fantasy the Left had ever held about the views of evangelical Christians and women who do not associate themselves with contemporary feminism, and all concern for clarity and truthfulness was left at the door.”

Obama has only been President for 17 days. It’s mind-boggling how many screw-up there have been.
